Swan River Trust: Riverpark Visitor Satisfaction Surveys

Swan River Trust: Riverpark Visitor Satisfaction Surveys Swan River Trust: Riverpark Visitor Satisfaction Surveys

The Swan and Canning Riverpark is an important community resource shared by Perth's local residents and visitors alike. SDF Global worked with the Swan River Trust to design and implement a series of four annual Visitor Satisfaction Surveys (2011-13, 2015). The purpose of the surveys was to evaluate the Trust's progress towards achieving one of its strategic plan objectives - improving community enjoyment of the Riverpark. This objective included the promotion of cultural and social values of the Riverpark at a systemic level.

The Visitor Satisfaction Survey was designed and tested over three years from 2011-2013, and an additional survey was conducted in 2015. Each year the survey was conducted, over 400 intercept surveys with visitors to different Riverpark locations were conducted. There were 34 survey locations across the four years that were selected to reflect the diversity of areas and types of activities across the Riverpark.

The analysis of each year's survey data generated practical recommendations, both systemic and site specific. Many of these were then implemented by the Trust when working with partners in specific locations. Annual survey findings also identified longer term trends and patterns and assisted in Riverpark management.
