The Participatory Irrigation Development Project (PIDP) for Philippines has a development objective aimed at improving irrigation service delivery on a financially and technically sustainable basis to contribute to increased agricultural production and productivity for beneficiary farmers. This is intended to improve income and livelihoods for farmers. The project supports implementation of a rationalisation plan of national agency for sustainable irrigation services including both national and community based irrigation.
SDF's Executive Director Dr Dorothy Lucks has been engaged since 2011 as a Change Management/Institutional Development Specialist on six monthly supervision and technical assistance missions. This involves assessing the progress of implementation of activities, a compliance review of financial management and social and environmental safeguards policies, and an assessment of how well the project is tracking towards its objectives and key performance indicators.
